More About Kai Babcock
Clinical Interests:
I have a strong clinical and personal interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders. I have a great deal of personal and professional experience in these areas and find myself able to connect well with and effectively aid individuals with these disorders. However, I am open to and interested in working with any individual with any form of problem because the bottom line for me is that all people are important – challenges included.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is grounded in Adlerian theory, which emphasizes understanding each individual’s unique worldview shaped by early childhood experiences. This includes exploring family dynamics, belief systems, and lifestyle patterns that influence how clients relate to themselves and others. I aim to understand clients through their own lens, helping them identify strengths, challenge unhelpful thought and behavior patterns, and cultivate a deeper sense of belonging and purpose.
At the heart of this approach—and my personal counseling style—is the belief that every person has the capacity for positive growth and the potential to become the best version of themselves.
Hobbies:
I played on the ultimate frisbee team throughout high school and college, and while it’s been harder to keep up with the sport since graduating, I’ve found a fun alternative in frisbee golf (a.k.a. frolf), which I play regularly. Outside of that, I enjoy reading about ancient history, playing video games and trading card games, solving puzzles, attending trivia nights, and spending time with my two dogs!
